What to Expect During a Kitchen or Bathroom Remodel in Kansas City
Approaching a home remodeling project can be intimidating, but once you’ve thought about how you’d like to use your space, you can be much more proactive and involved in the process. When you engage with any home remodeling contractor in Kansas City, you’ll want to be sure that you fully understand their processes and how you contribute to them. Using our own company as an example, NextGen Remodeling is here to explain what you should be prepared for, what you should think about, and how you can play a key role in creating the home of your dreams.Read Through Our Home Remodeling Pricing Guides
Before you can choose the home renovation contractor you want to work with, you should get an idea of how much you can expect your new kitchen, bathroom, or basement to cost. Pricing varies by contractor, but not every contractor does the same quality of work, nor do they use premium materials. When comparing pricing, consider the finished results.Request an Estimate Online
If, after reviewing the pricing guides, you’d like to get an estimate for your new kitchen or bathroom, it’s time to request an estimate online. You’ll need to include your name, email address, phone number, and street address on our form. You will then select which areas of your home you’d like remodeled; at NextGen Remodeling, we focus our work predominantly on kitchen and bathroom remodels in Kansas City, although we do complete upscale basements and whole-home interior renovations. Add any other details about your project, such as:- Square footage of spaces to be remodeled
- Existing length of countertops for kitchen remodels
- Description of the current condition of the spaces
- The style and finishes you’d like in your project (granite versus marble countertops, type of cabinetry, flooring, tiles, and more)
- Whether you want the overall floor plan to change (i.e. relocating gas stove hook-up or rearranging layout of the bathtub and toilet)
- Any other ideas you have
Prepare to Visit With Our Home Remodeling Specialist
There isn’t much that you need to do to prepare for your home visit from our home remodeling specialist. Just make sure he can walk through your space and take measurements. In general, most of our clients don’t need to do anything except greet us at the door. During your home visit, our remodeling specialist will ask you clarifying questions about your project and ask to see the space or spaces you’re looking to remodel. Be prepared to answer these questions as thoroughly as possible, because it will help guide our estimate. This is also an excellent time for you to ask questions of your potential home remodeling company! Regardless of which one is taking a look at your home, you’ll want to ask about:- Whether they’re insured and licensed to work in your area
- Whether you can contact references from past projects
- Whether they have ideas for improving how you can use the space in your home
- What you need to do to prepare for the remodel
- Their timeline; how long will the project take? When can you start?
