Mid-Century Modern Kitchen
Our young clients recently purchased a charming fixer-upper, drawn in by its unique architecture and prime location. Excited to transform the space, they wanted to start with the kitchen, envisioning it as the heart of their home. With a love for mid-century modern design, they appreciated the home’s existing features that complemented this aesthetic. The couple found inspiration in the living room’s large fireplace, aiming to create a cohesive flow throughout the house. They wanted to highlight the rich wood trim, introduce various shades of green, and incorporate tasteful pops of brass to infuse warmth and character into the kitchen. Recognizing that the original island created an awkward pathway and that the garage door's location posed a design challenge, they wanted to prioritize streamlining the layout. By reconfiguring the space to enhance functionality while maintaining the home’s mid-century charm, we aimed to create a welcoming and stylish kitchen that seamlessly connected to the rest of their beloved home.
"Going into this project, I vetted several contractors, and NextGen was a clear winner. I loved their transparent approach to pricing, thoughtful process and open communication. This feeling stayed strong after the sales and design phases; it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I valued the daily communication and updates, and everyone I worked with was kind, patient and professional. It's evident the team genuinely cares about the project and the quality of their work."
